Eco baskets made of reclaimed wire, woven on mountains
On Mt Bishop and Clerk, Maria Island, Tasmania
Hello. I'm Brigitte, a South African now living in Tasmania. I weave one-of-a-kind baskets out of discarded telephone wire and network cable. I call it "extreme weaving" because much of it is done during mountain-top rests whilst walking in the Tasmanian wilderness. To share the beauty of these destinations, I take work-in-progress photographs of my baskets 'on location'. This is where I tell the story of their travels.
I welcome commissions, so if you'd like a custom design made especially for you or a lucky recipient, please get in touch.
