My Baskets
My Beloved and I do quite a bit of bushwalking (aka hiking) in the Tasmanian wilderness. Since he’s a botanist—a lichenologist, to be specific—he tends to spend quite a bit of time at our bushwalking destinations looking at lichens, so I started taking my baskets along and weaving while I wait. I call it extreme weaving because much of it is done during mountain-top rests or somewhere with lovely views. To share that scenery and the story of each basket’s travels with its intended recipient, I compile a gallery of work-in-progress location shots of everywhere each basket has been.
